25 kVA Transformer, Get The Price Quickly
The 25 kVA transformers are available in single-phase pad-mounted and single-phase overhead (pole-mounted) transformer variants. 25 kVA transformer widely used in street lighting, residential areas, factories, etc. This FAQs guide will answer some of the most commonly asked questions about 25kVA transformers.
Daelim has more than 20 years of technical experience in international standard transformers. The design and production of a variety of 25kVA transformers with UL and cUL listed. Daelim's 25 kVA transformer single phase has many applications in the United States, Canada, and South America.
What is a 25 kVA Transformer?
A 25 kVA transformer is a type of transformer with a rating of 25,000 volt-amperes. It is used to convert between two different voltage levels, typically between 240 volts and 480 volts.
25 kVA transformers are available in both single-phase and three-phase versions. A 25kVA industrial power transformer features a primary voltage (single phase) of 7,620/13,200V grounded Wye and a secondary voltage of (single phase) 120/240V.
The Daelim single-phase pad-mounted and pole-mounted transformers offer powerful, efficient, and reliable power distribution for public or other outdoor locations. In addition, the low operating and maintenance costs make them ideal for powering smaller loads such as residential homes and small commercial establishments.
The power distribution of a 25kVA transformer system is designed for pole mount installations and is mainly used in overhead power distribution networks. 25 kVA pad-mounted transformers supply electricity to customers with a higher demand for power than what is available from the distribution grid.
What Are the Different Types of 25 kVA Transformers?
25kva transformer has three phase and single phase.
For the 25kva transformer single phase, the input is single-phase alternating current, and the output is single-phase alternating current. There are mainly two types: pad mounted and pole mounted. The relevant details will be discussed in detail below.
The 25 kVA transformer 3 phase is different from the single phase, the input is a three-phase symmetrical alternating current, and the output is also a three-phase symmetrical alternating current. There are mainly oil-immersed and dry-type transformers.
There are two main types of 25 kVA transformers of Daelim: pad-mounted and pole-mounted.

Pad Mounted
A 25 kVA single-phase pad-mounted transformer is a type of transformer that's installed on a concrete pad, typically near the point of service. The primary winding of a 25kVA transformer is composed of two or three wires that are placed in an underground vault. The secondary winding comprises one or two wires that come out of the transformer and connect to the customer's service drop.
The conventional high voltage of 25KVA transformers: 12.47/7.2kv, 13.2/7.62kv, 13.8/7.957kv, 34.5/19.92kV; if you need other voltage or special requirements, please contact the DAELIM team.
Low pressure is usually: 120/240V; 240/480V; 347V; 600V
Its design and production meet international standards such as IEC60076, IEEEC57.12.20, C57.12.38, C57.12.90, and CSA C227.3. In addition, the efficiency values of transformer 25kVA meet or exceed DOE requirements.

Pole Mounted (Overhead)
A 25kVA pole-mounted transformer is a type of transformer that's installed on an above-ground pole, typically near the point of service. The reason for this configuration is so that the secondary winding of the 25kVA transformer can be connected directly to the customer's service drop.
Just like a pad-mounted variant, the primary winding of a 25kVA transformer is composed of two or three wires that run from the utility's distribution line to the 25kVA transformer.
There are two types of 25kva single-phase transformers provided by Daelim: Conventional and CSP type.
The CSP type has more lightning protection devices than the conventional type. Compared with the conventional type, there are 1-2 arresters offered in appearance.
25 kVA pole mount transformer design and production conform to IEC60076, IEC C227.3-06, ANSI/IEEE C57.12.20, CSA C2.1-06, CSA C2.2-06, and other international standards.

How Many Amps Can a 25kVA Transformer Handle?
The 25kVA transformer amps rating depends on the voltage rating of the 25kVA transformer. The formula for determining the maximum number of amps that a 25kVA transformer can handle is as follows:
Maximum Amps = 25,000 VA / Voltage Rating
For example, a 25kVA transformer with a 240-volt primary and a 480-volt secondary can handle a maximum of 104 amps. On the other hand, a 25kVA transformer with a 480-volt primary and a 240-volt secondary can handle a maximum of 208 amps.

How To Calculate Transformer Load Capacity?
Calculating 25 kVA transformer load capacity will depend on the type of transformer you're using there are different calculations for single or three-phase transformers, which are based on ampere information and winding voltage.
Transformer load capacity is often calculated using the transformer rating as a percentage of the maximum load the transformer can handle. The calculation is often based on Primary or Secondary Winding Voltage and amperage details.
The calculation offers three different methods of determining the transformer load capacity. To determine kVA load capacity, you will need two pieces of information about your transformer:
V, which refers to the load line-to-line voltage.
I, which refers to the maximum load phase current.
Once you determine these numbers, you can then apply them to the two formulas for calculating the 25 kVA transformer load capacity:
25 kVA Single-phase transformers: (V x I) / 1,000 = kVA
25 kVA Three-phase transformers: (V x I x 1.732) / 1,000, where 1.732 is the square root of 3

How Many Houses Can a 25 kVA Transformer Handle?
The number of houses that a 25 kVA transformer can handle depends on the following factors:
The load on each house: This is determined by the number and type of appliances used in each house. For example, a house with multiple air conditioners will have a higher load than a house with only a few electrical appliances.
The voltage level: The higher the voltage, the fewer houses a 25 kVA transformer can handle. For example, a 25 kVA transformer supplying 240 volts can handle fewer houses than one supplying power at 120 volts.
The wiring: The type of wiring used in the houses also affects the number of houses a 25kVA transformer can handle. For example, if the houses are connected to the transformer via underground cables, the 25kVA transformer can handle fewer houses than if the houses were connected via overhead wires.
For instance, in a metropolitan area, where the load and voltage level on each house is relatively high, a 25kVA transformer can handle approximately six (6) or seven (7) standard houses. But in a rural area, where the load and voltage level on each house is relatively low, a 25 kVA transformer can handle ten (10) or more houses.

How Much Does a 25 kVA Transformer Cost?
The price of a 25 kVA transformer varies depending on the manufacturer, the type of transformer, the voltage level, and the number of windings. However, the average price of a 25kVA transformer starts at approximately $886 and can go as high as $3,500.
If you're shopping for a 25 kVA transformer, compare the prices of different manufacturers. Before making your purchase, you should also ask about the warranty and return policy.

How Much Oil Do You Need in a 25 kVA transformer?
The amount of oil required in a 25 kVA transformer depends on the type of transformer and the number of windings. For example, a 25kVA transformer with two windings will require less oil than one with four windings.
However, on average, the oil volume that you'll need for a 25 kVA transformer single phase is around 98L (liters). The 25 kVA transformer oil capacity usually accounts for 20-30% of the total transformer weight. Therefore, it's always best to consult with the manufacturer of your 25 kVA transformer to determine the specific amount of oil you'll need. At the same time, you can also ask about the best oil type.
Some of the most common oils in 25kVA transformers include transformer oil, mineral oil, and silicone oil.

How many loads Can a 25kVA Transformer Handle?
A standard 25kVA transformer from a reputable brand like Daelin can withstand a permanent current of 36A 400Vac. That capacity can supply two 10HP (horsepower) pumps with a 15% margin on paper.
That means the 25kVA can supply more than the two pumps, but we do not recommend putting a 25kVA under such high stress for an extended period. If you need to, get a larger transformer like the 40kVA.
