Hailing from Canada, a global player in renewable energy solutions sought Daelim Transformer's expertise for two 4000 kVA step-up transformers. The input voltage is 480V, with the output voltage of 44kV.
Client's Requirements
The step-up transformer is intended for use in conjunction with a D-VAR for voltage support through VAR injection and continuous voltage regulation. The D-VAR system operates seamlessly at the transformer's full KVA rating, facilitating either fully capacitive or inductive operation with a power factor of 0. The transformer is designed to sustain full current while maintaining a 1.1 per unit (pu) voltage on the low voltage (LV) side without any operational restrictions.

Furthermore, the D-VAR unit can inject 14,400 amps for a duration of up to two seconds. This dynamic operating scenario can be repeated every 5 minutes.
