34.5kV Three Phase Pad Mounted Transformer

34.5 kv 2500 kva transformer
The transformer shall be three-phase, self-cooled, Liquid Filled Pad-Mounted, 65°C temperature rise rated OA, suitable for outdoor service.

 

The insulating fluid shall be vegetable-based with a 300 °C fire point. It shall be biodegradable.

 

The 34.5KV transformer shall be capable of rating continuous kVA at temperature rise and ambient conditions listed in the attached 34.5KV Data Sheet.

 

34.5KV Transformer primary winding shall be delta connected with four (4) 2.5% taps, two above and two below rated primary voltage. Tap changer shall be for de-energized operation.

 

The 34.5KV transformer shall be provided with a primary and secondary BIL as indicated in the  Data Sheets.

When specified in the  Data Sheets, the 34.5KV transformer secondary winding shall be wye connected with the secondary neutral brought out for connection to a grounding resistor. In all other cases, the transformer neutral shall be solidly grounded.

 

Each 34.5KV transformer shall have an impedance.

Each 34.5KV transformer is to have provisions for the future addition of fans to achieve an OA/FA rating.

A flange shall be provided on the end wall of the tank for attachment to the incoming line compartment. The flange shall be located on the left when facing the front of the transformer.

  • Primary connections shall be arranged for loop feed, with six primary bushing wells suitable for 600-ampere load break bushing inserts.
  • Secondary configuration shall include three insulated bushings with one grounded secondary neutral bushing, featuring spade-type terminals with NEMA standard twelve (12) hole spacing.
  • The transformer shall be Delta/WYE connected, with internal grounding of the primary neutral, and designed to avoid tank heating due to third harmonics.

Additional Features

  • Equipped with a parking stand for each primary bushing, three primary liquid-immersed fault-sensing expulsion type load break fuses in series with internal current-limiting fuses, and provisions for hot stick removal.
  • Includes a pressure-vacuum gauge and pressure relief device, with the tank constructed to withstand a minimum of 12 psig with rupture.

Design Details

  • The transformer shall be the dead-front primary type with separate high- and low-voltage compartments, the high-voltage compartment fastened from inside the low-voltage compartment.
  • Low-voltage compartment shall have provisions for padlocking, installation without a fence or protective enclosure.
  • Complete nameplate inside and outside the low-voltage compartment, external tap changer handle (if applicable), provision for tank grounding, and bolting to a foundation pad.
  • Conforms to ANSI Standard C57.12.22, except where it conflicts with specific requirements outlined.
